Artem Zhulyev is a jazz saxophone soloist, arranger, composer, and teacher. He was born in Ukraine and established himself in Moscow until he decided, after fifteen years of great success touring and composing, to base himself in Barcelona, Spain.
Graduating as a saxophone concert performer, teacher, and Big Band director at Rachmaninov’s Conservatory in Rostov on Don, Russia, he continued his saxophone studies with master Alexander Oseichuk in Moscow.
He toured as a soloist with great artists like Phil Perry or the Transatlantic Band, accompanying amazing stars like Erik Marienthal or Dave Koz. He also performed with rock n’ roll bands such as the American “Red Elvises”; they toured Russia from 2003 to 2009, playing at the prestigious Live 8.
He is the founder and composer of several jazz projects like the acclaimed “Jazz Fabrique” (Jazz-folk fusion) in Moscow, his Dixieland Trio, and later on, the Livery Stable Jazz Band in Barcelona, where he is a member of the Flamingo Tours, The Rhythm treasures, Barcelona Big Blues Band and the Barcelona Jazz Orchestra.
Thanks to all of the above, he has performed at prestigious music festivals and venues such as the Barcelona Jazz Festival, Rainbow Jazz, Vi Jazz, Festival MPB Barcelona, Mostra de Jazz de Tortosa, Benicassim Blues Festival, Xabia Jazz 2017, Tarragona Festival Dixie, Terrassa Jazz Festival, and continues to grow as a great artist
